We are updating the Town's Municipal Development Plan (MDP) to address issues and trends that have emerged since it was last updated in 2016, and to make sure it aligns with recent changes made to the MGA.

What is an MDP

The Municipal Development Plan (MDP) is the primary policy document that provides long-term guidelines and policy direction for the future growth and development within the municipality. It also guides the policy direction for other municipal planning documents, such as Area Structure/Redevelopment Plans, and the Land Use Bylaw.

Why are we updating it now?

The MDP was last updated in 2016 and we want to ensure it reflects changes to the Municipal Government Act, as well as making sure it meets the needs of our community today.

How are you collecting feedback?

We'll be posting all of our engagement opportunities here on this page. We're planning several in-person opportunities, surveys, and workshops over the next several months before presenting our draft to Council and the public for review.
